Mentorat

Les vêtements tells the day-to-day story of a young woman and her relationship with clothes at a turning point in her adult life. Without wishing to make a commentry on fashion, I am interested in taking clothes apart and reconstructing them so that only colour, texture, motif, and movement remain. Using these fragments, I want to translate the beauty I see in the material that surrounds me into animated images.

Caroline Blais

Caroline Blais is a multidisciplinary artist from Montréal. She has studied cinema, graphic design, and languages in Montréal and Laponie. Her practice sits somewhere between art and graphic design, and often takes place in public spaces. Her performance videos, short films, video installations, web projects, and books have been presented in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Blais takes inspiration from everyday observations, the people she meets, and her travels off the beaten path.

The mentor chosen for this project is Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre.
