Vidéographe and Main Film
A new partnership

As of April 2017

Vidéographe and Main Film are pleased to announce the pooling of their production equipment. Beginning in April, our members will have access to our combined filming equipment at Main Film. They will therefore benefit from a unified equipment park comprising of specialized resources for digital and analogue media arts production in one location.

Focusing on dissemination and distribution, Vidéographe will keep its diffusion, digitization and postproduction equipment in its space.

Vidéographe and Main Film thus simplify access by artists to a wide range of tools essential to the creation of their works. Through this alliance, we build on the complementarity of our expertise to improve the services we offer and adapt them to the needs of our community.

We hope, with this collaboration, to contribute to the strength of the media arts’ network and to effectively support the artists who constitute it.

For more information about the equipment or to make rentals, please contact Alexis Landriault or Gabrielle Bergeron-Leduc at 514-845-7442 or by email at:  or at

Main Film
Since 1982 Main Film is an artist run centre that has been supporting independent film. It fosters and stimulates cinematographic creation. It helps filmmakers cultivate their artistic, creative and professional development and maintains a stimulating network.

Main Film supports filmmaking in all its forms (documentary, fiction, experimental, animation) regardless of the medium. It considers the filmmaker’s vision to be the driving force behind the creative process. By easing production constraints and promoting peer support, Main Film helps artists find their voice and creative vision through practice. Main Film provides artists access to a wide range of equipment at affordable rates, workshops, events and production support programs.

We would like to thank the Canada Council for the Arts, which, through the Leadership for Change program, contributed to the development of this partnership, along with Spira and La Bande Video for their precious advice.
