Entirely designed and operated in Quebec, Vithèque is a website dedicated
to showcasing and disseminating Vidéographe’s collection of independent
video—one of the most important collections of its kind in Canada. It comprises
experimental works, animation, documentary and fiction.

Vithèque offers:

• close to 2,200 titles dating from 1971 to today, created by more than 800
artists, activists and engaged citizens distributed by Vidéographe;
• the regular addition of new works, selected by a committee of experts;
• exclusive video programs;
• critical and historical texts on the media arts;
• educational material;
• archive documents on the history of video;
• research and conservation resources;
• an efficient audiovisual search engine;
• a bilingual site (French and English);
• a site suitable for all screens (responsive).
As Vidéographe is a not-for-profit organization, all revenue generated by
Vithèque is used to pay artist fees as well as to maintain the site.
This means that subscribing to the site lends direct support to independent
creation and its online accessibility.

The institutional membership is subject to an annual fee. Member libraries and educational
institutions will benefit from:
• free streaming of all videos listed on the site for users who are registered
with the institution via proxy;
• in-classroom video screenings;
• access to all textual content;
• MARC records for all works;
• annual usage statistics;
• research and user support for librarians and teachers.

Please contact us to get a quote.

Taxes and transport fees are not included.
An additional fee of $15.00 will be added to international sales for interbank transactions.
