Vidéoclub – Focus on Manon Labrecque

PROGRAMMING

December 5, 2023 at 6 pm
Cinéma Moderne

$15

This program is dedicated to the memory of Manon Labrecque, an artist of integrity and uniqueness, who passed away too soon this year. Curated by Denis Vaillancourt, it highlights the richness of Labrecque’s work, particularly its focus on the performativity of the body and the use of video to break down its limits. Games of transparency, erasure and composition highlight the permanence of images in the face of the impermanence of the body.

This tribute is not intended as a retrospective, but rather as an invitation to commemorate Manon, to appreciate the vivacity of her work and to perform, through the movement of images, that of a body freed from its weight.
