Filmic and sound scriptures in the experimental moving picture
Curators : Audrey Brouxel and Guillaume Vallée

The Center is pleased collaborate for the second time at the multidisciplinary Festival Ibrida * Pluri. Organized by the collective groop * index, the Festival will take place this year at Eastern Bloc, from April 21 to 23  2016.

The organizers, Sonya Stefan, and Samuel Guillaume Bobony Valley, have implemented various performances by offering to several visual and sound artists from Quebec to work together for the first time, and to offer unprecedented audiovisual performances. Three partner-structures will present a program of short films during the festival: Videographe, Le Groupe Intervention Vidéo (GIV) and filmkoop Wien (Vienna, Austria).

The videos of the program, all drawn from the large and rich catalog of Vidéographe, are distinguished thrmselmves by the use of different forms of writing.

From the filmic scripture that is discovered through the headings, subtitles, narration or audiovisual archive to the sound writing through experimentation on the form and sound aspect creating new sound and visual palimpsests. These experimental works operate a fascinating and creative dialogue through the very materiality of the mediums that have been used by artists.

Just like the collection of Vidéographe, we wanted parity in this programme and we wanted it to be representative of the artists who are writing and making the history of experimental video nowadays.
