The selected participants will be contacted during the week of May 2nd, 2022. This workshop can receive a limited number of persons.

Description

The Introduction to video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro workshop is geared towards beginners in video editing. Participants will gain an excellent comprehension of the different phases of editing, from the offline to the online, as well as all the different functionalities of the software.

This intensive workshop given over 3 weekends (6 days, 36 hours) includes theoretical and practical components on: organizing your footage, different editing techniques, sound editing, colour correction and the delivery of a project for its dissemination.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own short video project (short film, documentary, music video, event video, etc.) of a maximum 5-minute length to work on during the workshop. A test project will be provided if participants need one.

Conditions of admission

This course is intended for artists or those working or seeking work in the field of media arts. We prioritize applicants who reside on the island of Montréal and you should be available throughout the duration of the course, which is partly funded by Emploi-Québec. The workshop is not eligible for students whose field of study is related to the workshop.

This course will be given in French. The training room is not wheelchair accessible.

Sami Zenderoudi

Sami Zenderoudi is an independent filmmaker. He holds a Media Studies MA from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from York University. Sami’s fiction films focus on human-nature relationships and experiments with ways of depicting the natural world in fiction. As an educator, he has taught filmmaking and video editing at university and cégep levels.
